PMDG 738 issue
« on: January 13, 2014, 07:33:46 AM »
Yesterday i had an issue with the 737-800 of PMDG (FSX). After takeoff i was not able to climb to the my planned cruising flight level (FL330). I was able to cruise only at FL200. I had Buffet Alert on my FMC (The outside temp was ok, not the vatsim bug). I could not use the VNAV becouse it will allwais enter on overspeed, so i had to manualy  set the cruising speed till the end, that was about 310kt on cruising with a wind of about 30 kt.  I want to mention that the interval between the stick shaker markes (the red dots that indicate the stall or overspeed) was very small all the time. Anybody can suggest what happend with my airplane?

Thanx
Benny

WOW, that's a head scratcher.

The buffet limits the banking angle of the airplane in flight. As I know, airplanes have to keep a 1.2G reserve for turning (which gives about a 30 deg bank angle for a level turn). The alert means that this reserve is not available to you anymore (so <30 deg bank). But all this is consistent with what you've said about the condition of the aircraft (a symptom, not a cause).

So I don't know. Never happened in the 737NGX.
